Visiting the old and the new
On the 20th of July we took a trip to see the new Palace of the Arts, the new National Theater (Nemzeti Színház) and the old St. Stephen Cathedral, the "Bazilika". We were impressed by the structures inside and out and enjoyed the site-seeing as well. We drove up on the Danube shore - called the "rakpart" - from the Lágymányosi Bridge to the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, "Lánchíd" as it is called and parked on the Király Street and walked to the great Cathedral late in the afternoon.

On top of the city
The unpredictable weather in the second half of July raised havoc with our planning. Between rain, thunderstorms and showers we managed to have some outdoors fun and headed to the top of the city, to Gellérthegy, from where you can have a spectacular view of Budapest.
